Product Description
The heartwarming and unforgettable story of a family in the making and the
wondrously neurotic dog who taught them what really matters in life
John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of a puppy. Life would never be the same.
Marley quickly grew into a barreling, ninety-seven-pound streamroller of a Labrador retriever, a dog like no other. He crashed through screen doors, gouged through drywall, flung drool on guests, stole women’s undergarments, and ate nearly everything he could get his mouth around, including couches and fine jewelry. Obedience school did no good Marley was expelled. Neither did the tranquilizers the veterinarian prescribed for him with the admonishment, “Don’t hesitate to use these.”
And yet Marley’s heart was pure. Just as he joyfully refused any limits on his behavior, his love and loyalty were boundless, too. Marley shared the couple’s joy at their first pregnancy, and their heartbreak over the miscarriage. He was there when babies finally arrived and when the screams of a seventeen-year-old stabbing victim pierced the night. Marley shut down a public beach and managed to land a role in a feature-length movie, always winning hearts as he made a mess of things. Through it all, he remained steadfast, a model of devotion, even when his family was at its wit’s end. Unconditional love, they would learn, comes in many forms.
Is it possible for humans to discover the key to happiness through a bigger-than-life, bad-boy dog? Just ask the Grogans.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always thought that dogs are over-rated. This one is no exception - lots of hype, but where’s the beef stick? (To coin a phrase). This family had this dog Marley & it wasn’t good at even the usual dog stuff like getting the newspaper, fethcing my slippers or keeping the hamster out of the lard bucket. Pass this one up & get a real dog book like White Fang.

Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog
Marley was a horrid dog, not a heartwarming story at all, when he finally died, it was a “so what took so long”.
I fail to see the wonderful and heartwarming story of this reprobate and fairly rotten dog.
This was a major waste of money…and yes, I have dogs, cats and horses…this dog would have been gone in no time.

Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog
I have read 1/3 of the book and will probably not continue. So far I have seen a lot of stupidity the author in how the author has handled the dog. One does not need to fumigate the whole house, use poisons because the dog has flees. You buy Advantage for dogs for flees-he fails to ever mention this. If a dog is disruptive and dangerous in doggy school the owner never should not immaturely have questioned his dismissal. Taking the dog in their car for any reason is unresonsible-considering the damage he has done in the car and it is dangerous too. Then they open the car window and the dog ends up almost dead dangling out of the moving car by his tail. I find this all irresponsible. This is not to mention that I have already read about testicles (his & the dogs) -the author did not want to neutor this bad boy either. Also offensive was the very detailed reading of vaginal sonograms for his wife, how the author could not get a hard-on and more sexually explicit writing. It is easy reading but mundane and I kept waiting to read something exciting. So far this has been a book about nothing. I do not think a dog that has mental problems is amusing. I will stick with my sweet little 7 lb. Maltese that I have worked to educate myself and the dog for 3 yrs - to include doggy school, a private trainer, a good vet, been through 4 groomers (1 drugged him), the internet, books, the breeder and my Maltese rescue contact. I still have issues but with a doggy-proof house-Marleys was not - we manage and he is the love of my life. Try reading Jazzy & Me by Cindy Adams- loved that book.

Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog
this book is unreadible. it’s horrible! i bought it because of the cute cover and i love dogs, but the writing is soooooo bad and the stories of the dog are soooooo ordinary. the author goes way too much into his own boring life that has nothing to do with the dog. the writing is from a newspaper guy from south florida and it feels like it… it’s full of cliche’s and very flat jokes. it’s unbearable. stop this book…

Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog
A dog dominating his cowed humans. A poor excuse for an obedience trainer. Lessons that should have been learned in puppyhood ignored or not even considered.
If this dog had been a human child it would have been on Ritalyn and in intensive therapy — but no it’s “just” a dog and his vices are considered irritating, bearable and sometimes cute.
I didn’t find this book amusing or interesting at all.
